What does it mean to be a member?

Being a member means being a part of a dynamic youth organization that promotes personal growth, leadership development, and community involvement. It means being a part of a close-knit community of individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in their schools, families, and communities. As a member, you have the opportunity to participate in various activities, events, and projects that address important issues such as peer pressure, bullying, and mental health. Being a member of WAVA FCCLA means having a voice and being empowered to make a difference in the lives of others. It means having the chance to collaborate with like-minded individuals and develop lifelong skills in areas such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Overall, being a member of FCCLA means being part of a tight-knit community that encourages personal growth, leadership development, and the opportunity to positively influence the world around you.

Is there a dress code?

As you prepare for your upcoming FCCLA event, please keep in mind that we adhere to the Washington FCCLA Dress Code. To assist you in selecting appropriate attire, we have provided a comprehensive guide outlining the permissible clothing options for members at any FCCLA event. While it is important to adhere to the dress code, we want to ensure that you are not discouraged.

What are STAR events?

Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) Events are engaging competitive activities where students can showcase their talents and abilities. These events give students the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills as they address important issues related to families, careers, and communities. Whether competing individually or as part of a team, students can choose from a wide range of over 30 events to participate in. By researching a topic, developing a project, and actively advocating for positive change, participants enhance their leadership skills and career readiness. STAR Events provide a platform for cooperative teamwork, individual achievement, and healthy competition, thus fostering personal growth and application of learning.
